We don't have any bait or method limitations. Instead, we rely on our responsible anglers to make informed choices about the safest way in which to fish - putting the safety of the fish first, and the needs of fellow Anglers before their own. Please ensure that you are fishing considerately and within our rules at all times.
Wicksteed Carp Lake is patrolled on a regular basis - please assist our Bailiffs where you can by cooperating with them at all times, as they work to help keep you safe on the bank.
*Site Rules* - to be followed by everyone visiting Wicksteed Carp Lake
- Dogs to be kept on a lead at all times.
- Dogs to be kept on a lead at all times!!!
- Take all of your litter home.
- Alcohol to be consumed in moderation. Drug use will not be tolerated.
- No fires or BBQ's (except in organised events)
**Fishing Rules** - any Angler breaking these rules may be asked to leave
- Anglers must be in possession of an EA rod licence.
- Bookings must be made prior to arrival. ENSURE YOU HAVE BOOKED BEFORE YOU TRAVEL.
- Users accept that fishing is a risk sport. Edge Angling are not liable for any injury sustained whilst using this facility.
- All fish to be returned to the water alive.
- Keep ALL of your lines inside the allocated water for your peg.
- Large unhooking mats and 42" landing nets must be used.
- No fixed leads. Tail rubbers must not be pushed up onto lead clips.
- Carp are not to be retained in a keepnet or sack. Retention slings must be used when lifting carp from the water.
- Under 16's must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
- Pike fishing is STRICTLY from October 1st - 31st March inclusive.
- Live baits must be caught at Wicksteed Carp Lake. Live baits are not to be brought in from other waters.
- Pike anglers must be in possession of the following at all times; Large forceps, large wire cutters and large long nose pliers. This rule will be enforced by our Bailiffs.
- Semi-barbless trebles to be used for pike fishing.
- Large landing net and large well-padded unhooking mat to be used for Pike fishing.

Edge Angling reserve the right to invite guests to fish the water, to close the Lake for maintenance purposes, and to hold events that may not be open to members at any time. We will endeavour to give notice in such instances, but this may not always be possible.
