Newsletter#1
We kick off our new weekly newsletter with a bit of a bombshell... ...things haven't gone exactly to plan!
Well, maybe that's too strong. The Carp are getting caught, our marketing has been well received and we are building a steady following both online and on the bank.
So, we hear you ask, what hasn't gone to plan then?
In a word...weed!
Yep, the pesky green stuff that is growing from the top down and the bottom up. Every type you could think of, plus a couple more for good measure. The lake is like an encyclopedia of weed!
Why? Well, that's easy...we had a mild winter (so the weed didn't die back), we enjoy exceptional water quality (everything a growing weed needs!), but mainly because we put the blue lake dye in too late! Oh, and when we did put it in, we used the wrong stuff and it didn't work. Don't worry, it's in now, but it's set us back a bit.
Don't get me wrong, the lake is still fishing really well as the pictures will testify. At least 2 anglers have beat their PB's and 5 of the new twenties (of which there are 10, by the way) have been to the bank since we opened in April. But, we know the weed has put a few of you off who were thinking of trying us out, which inevitably has meant fewer ticket and bait sales.
The most frustrating part about it for Mick and I is that so few of you have got to see just how great our boilie and pellet really is - especially the pellet! We've tried it out on a few venues now and it really is outfishing every other bait us at the moment.
But hey, don't feel too sorry for us. This is a brand new venture to secure a little slice of decent Carp fishing in Kettering, and we think we're off to a pretty good(ish) start!
If you know anybody else who might enjoy these emails, feel free to send it on to them.
Oh, and your free gift is being sent out this weekend by the way!*
*to those of you who have given us your address, anyway. What?! You haven't? Best get clicking here...
